Madonna célèbre le pouvoir des femmes du Cap-Vert. La batuka était considérée comme un acte de rébellion par les colonisateurs Portugais l’Eglise catholique. Ils ont retiré les instruments de percussion aux femmes car ils consideraient cette danse frénétique comme était un acte de rébellion.
"Batuka". La nouvelle vidéo de Madonna avec l'orchestre Batukadeiras. La vidéo est l'œuvre d'Emmanuel Adjei, qui s'est déjà occupé du clip de "Dark Ballet" et qui a été tourné à Lisbonne. Madonna et son orchestre Batukadeiras - qui joueront un rôle particulier dans la tournée de l'album - ne font que danser sur la côte de Lisbonne, chanter et jouer dans une salle ou partager des moments de plaisir ou de tendresse.
