Écrit par les quatre membres du groupe italien, Mammamia est une chanson rock aux sonorités dance et pop, Le leader Damiano David l'a décrite comme "une chanson légère, pas sérieuse, pour s'amuser" avec un texte qui "parle de liberté dans le goût, même dans le sexe".

Un fantasme de pulpe macabre sur le thème parfait d'Halloween.

'Mammamia' est la première nouvelle musique du groupe depuis qu'elle a remporté le festival de la chanson à Rotterdam. Bien qu'il y ait déjà eu des listes à succès avec les singles 'Zitti E Buoni', 'I Wanna Be Your Slave' et 'Beggin', mais ces singles étaient déjà sortis avant le concours Eurovision de la chanson. La nouvelle chanson, comme toute la musique du groupe, a été écrite et produite par le quatuor.

Mammamia est le nom de la dernière chanson du groupe, qui fait ici et là référence à l'agitation autour de la consommation de cocaïne lors du concours Eurovision de la chanson. C'est une chanson amusante, nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés à la faire. Nous débordions d'inspiration, a déclaré la bassiste Victoria De Angelis. Il y avait aussi beaucoup de rires pendant la fabrication du matériel promotionnel. Le groupe a décidé de poser nu - et enduit d'huile - pour quelques photos. "Pourquoi si chaud ?", ont-ils écrit sur les réseaux sociaux. La photo a été likée plus d'un million de fois sur Instagram.
